Our Story – The BRAVE Ghana Project
The BRAVE Ghana Project (Bullying Reporting and Victim Empowerment) is a Being Initiative dedicated to creating safer, kinder, and mentally healthy youth communities across Ghana. Born out of the growing concern about bullying and its impact on young people’s wellbeing, BRAVE seeks to shift the culture from silence to support, fear to courage, and harm to healing.
Through partnerships with the Ghana TVET Service and other stakeholders, the project works directly with youth/students, teachers, and Guidance & Counselling Coordinators to strengthen safeguarding systems, build empathy, and promote help-seeking behaviour. At the heart of BRAVE are the BRAVE Clubs — student-led spaces where young people are trained as peer supporters, advocates, and changemakers.
BRAVE believes that when young people are equipped with knowledge, compassion, and leadership skills, they can transform their environment/schools from within. By addressing bullying and prioritising mental health, the project is helping nurture confident, resilient, and socially responsible young citizens who contribute to a safer, more inclusive Ghana.
